Hardy Wright

Hardy began his performing career at the age of six, singing and dancing in several appearances on "The Fred and Fay Show", a local kid's television show in the Denver area, in the 50's.

He continued his interest in singing, performing in several boys, and mixed choirs in junior high, and high school. In 1964, he began taking folk guitar lessons, and continued for about 5 months. That was the last of his "formal" music education; shortly thereafter, he joined his first band and began performing at private school parties. This continued until 1968, when he graduated and moved back to Colorado.

After a brief hiatus, Hardy began performing again in 1974, and traveled a rather circuitous path, from folk/bluegrass, to country, country swing, country rock, and finally to hard rock, and blues. Shortly after his band of 16 years, "Union Dues" broke up, he received a call from the Nostalgics, and became their lead guitarist and bass/baritone vocalist, where he as continued for the last 11 years.

A prolific songwriter, Hardy is working on his second solo CD of original material, and when not performing with the Nostalgics, works occasionally as a single performer, or with John Stilwagen, or Marianne Peiller, as a duo. An avid blues guitarist, he also enjoys performing at local blues jams.
